On Point Guests Win Pulitzers

The 2012 Pulitzer Prizes are out and we’re pleased to see several of our past guests commended for their exemplary work.

David Kocieniewski of The New York Times won for his explanatory reporting on taxes and the wealthy. He spoke with us last year on a show about taxes and corporations.

Veteran Africa correspondent Jeffrey Gettleman of The New York Times won the prize for International Reporting. We spoke with him most recently last year on the famine in Somalia, but have also checked in on the world’s piracy problems.

Boston Globe film critic Wesley Morris won the 2012 Pulitzer for criticism. We had him as a guest back in 2010 to preview the Oscars.

Poet Tracy K. Smith won the poetry prize for her book “Life on Mars.” She joined us on the show in September to talk about it.

Stephen Greenblatt, a professor at Harvard, won the general non-fiction award for his book “The Swerve: How the World Became Modern.” He talked to us about Shakespeare in 2010 and 2004 and in 2009 about the Norton Anthology of English Literature, and .
